Spring has Sprung

It has been much too long without posting. There really was nothing garden related to speak of stitching took my attention through the Winter. However Spring has Sprung around here and everything is green, the grass has already had the first mow and garden items are gradually being placed back into the garden. I am thrilled to see my "Alien" flower has survived my late fall transplanting and is thriving beautifully. Soon it will look like this....
The poppies are filling in with their fuzzy foliage and soon the large green pods will form and burst open when no one is looking into bright orange crepe flowers that will only last a day or two. The poppy makes a grand entrance and exits quickly so you must be ready to enjoy it as soon as you see the first split on the pod. It usually rains when it blooms and I only catch glimpses of the bold beauty.

I will be doing a lot of transplanting this year moving plants around and adding a few new ones. I wanted to create a new cutting garden space near the woods however I am giving it a second thought because each year gets tougher to accomplish all I want between gardening and stitching. Do I need more area to care for? I must think on this a bit more. Until then I will enjoy the greening of the fresh Spring garden.
